Damaraland & Skeleton Coast
Damaraland's isolated raw beauty with vast savannahs, burnt ochre hills, granite koppies (boulders), and desert-adapted wildlife is harsh and unforgiving yet utterly beguiling. In the south are numerous geological and historical attractions. The north is better known for its game including the desert elephants and rhino. The Skeleton Coast (to the west of Damaraland) is by far the most remote of locations but hauntingly beautiful with bleached whalebones, rusted shipwrecks, and endless dunes droping into the sea.
